Augustine Fou has compiled a list of what he calls the ten commandments of modern marketing at clickz.com
They are:
1. Thou shalt not target customers with messages they don’t want.
2. Thou shalt be truthful.
3. Thou shalt respect your customers.
4. Thou shalt make it easy for people to find you.
5. Thou shalt be useful.
6. Thou shalt make it easy for people to pass along.
7. Thou shalt measure and optimize.
8. Thou shalt listen to customers.
9. Thou shalt remove any organizational barriers to speedy, collaborative innovation.
10. Thou shalt not do brand-ing.
We tend to agree and would say you probably can’t go wrong if you follow them.

Google CEO, Eric Schmidt shared his vision of what the internet may be like in five years time at last week’s Gartner Symposium/ITxpo Orlando 2009. Some of the more interesting thoughts are about how there is going to be a fundamental shift towards the Internet being mostly made up of user-generated information rather than traditional media and the internet becoming dominated by Chinese-language content.
As part of the recent Melbourne Spring Fashion Week, Flamingo Sands put on a bit of a cocktail party at the exclusive Deck 10 – on the rooftop of the Adelphi Hotel.
Interesting article by Al Ries on left and right brain thinking in business.
Your brain is divided into two completely separate hemispheres. Each hemisphere processes information differently. Your left hemisphere processes information in series. It thinks in language. It works linearly and methodically. Your right hemisphere processes information in parallel. It thinks in mental images. It “sees” the big picture.
One side of your brain or the other is dominant. In itself, that should not be surprising, since it’s consistent with another well-known human trait: Some people are left-handed and some people are right-handed. In a similar fashion, some people are left brainers and some people are right brainers.
